Deep Fried Eggplants


You know what they say; all that glitters is not gold. Take for e.g., Rakhi Sawant. You think the woman looks good, and her jhatkas and matkas are quite entertaining. But the moment you hear her voice, you want to shoot yourself in the ears and fall dead.

The eggplant belongs to the same category. A very pretty vegetable to look at, great shape and colour. But it can be extremely slimy and unappealing in a curry. There is only one way to treat such people and vegetables – and that is the rough way. Deep frying eggplants takes the slime away and improves them a lot. Don't take my word for it, try it out.

Daal Curry - North Indian Style Curried Lentils


Have you ever been told that Punjabis are better built than the average Indian because they include plenty of daal in their daily diet? It may just be a myth that they are stronger than the rest of the country, but should you ever meet my friends, Harbhajan and Harjeet, you wouldn't think so (quite a boisterous couple). Anyway, I assure you that lentils are a rich source of protein, and they are not going to weaken you even if they do not turn you into a muscle (wo)man overnight.

Tawa Pulao

 

A lot of people seem to be burdened by domestic help issues these days. Most of us live in two member, or rather, two and a half member households (the half being a kid in the 0 to 10 years age group). With jobs that keep us away from home for most part of the day, we can't do without a maid to look after the little one(s).
